Hello New Year!

Happy New Year from all of us at AmpleHarvest.org! We hope everyone is staying safe and healthy in 2023. We're starting the year off with new enthusiasm and motivation for our mission to reduce garden food waste.

January is also National Citrus Month. This special month celebrates all the wonderful benefits of citrus fruit and is a great time to make sure you (and your local food pantry!) are getting enough of this delicious, nutrient-packed fruit. Citrus fruits are famous for their vitamin C content. The winter months are the season we need more of this strong immune booster to help us ward off colds and flu. Vitamin C also helps us beat winter fatigue by aiding with iron absorption. If you have citrus trees, please consider donating any surplus harvest to your local food pantry

February is Black History Month, as well as National Cherry, Grapefruit, and Heart month. We'll talk about them all over the next few weeks!

Lettuce Know

It's cold out. Let's warm up with summer harvest and donation pics! Whether you donated a few tomatoes or a whole trunk full last year, we'd love to hear your stories. Just reply to this email!

Food banks are continuing to see large numbers of people needing food assistance. If you’re thinking about a spring garden, think about growing more to feed more. If you can't grow a garden, share AmpleHarvest.org on social media, volunteer, or donate. Every act of kindness counts.
